The article mentions that an artist  gained &#039;mainstream exposure&#039; thanks to a DRM-free promotion, I wonder who that is.
But the comments on the article left out a good point that the article didn&#039;t address:
Is Sony/BMG offering this to their listeners outside of the USA ? I doubt it (as is the case with iTunes drm-free,IIRC, and they&#039;re ignoring a lot of their customers (and potential customers).
On the positive, partnering with amazon (a site that many already have accounts with and trust) will appease the average consumer like my sister who won&#039;t feel annoyed that she has to give and keep track of her information to yet another website.
