The past two years have been a whirlwind for me. My beginnings as a small-city boy in Ohio could have never foreseen what I would accomplish in the years to come. This transitional period, I’m sure, is one most of you have gone through at one point in time. As a very dear friend said to me, "Do you believe what has happened to us since August of 2005?" Honestly, I can hardly grasp what has happened to us. I seem to remember driving out to New York with my mom and best friend not realizing this is where my life will leap forward. I remember meeting 4 amazing people [and one DUD] of whom I would be living with for the next year and then some.
Those people, their uniqueness, have affected my entire self in ways I and they would not even begin to imagine. Look where we are guys! Look what we have done! Imagine what we will do! Trips to the Dunkin Donuts around the block after a long night of doing laundry are still fresh in my mind. Pulling all-nighters to finish papers and keep each other awake. Driving out to Brooklyn for the best damn pizza this side of the Hudson!
We went through troubles as well. Angry words flew around the room at times, tempers flared, and spirits were dented. The core was always there. The core is still there and here. The first trip! It was a good one, to sunny San Francisco. Walking along the pier, through Union Square, up and down hills with a bottle of Jose. We did it all!
Now look at us. An aspiring journalist with valuable ties to gigantic media moguls. A politician who knows no end in achieving his vision. A jack-of-all-trades marketeer delving into the ever popular world of technology. And yes, a couple of others who seem to be making their own for a smaller jump into life. Live for the moment and the moments we will never forget. You guys have changed me for the better. I hope you can say the same for me.
The song is a little cheesy guys, but just listen to the chorus. Lets keep this conversation going. This is our world, our future, our life!
Sadly, I am on my way to class so I am unable to properly express my sentiments after reading this.
I shall just simply thank you for now. Thank you for writing and posting this. Thank you for everything you have shown me. Thank you for being my brother for life.
Yes, you have changed my life for the better. Both of you.
