A very dear friend brought his event to my attention last night. It is called "Out of the Darkness Overnight" and is sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. It will be held on June 9-10, 2007 in New York City. The event entails a night time walk to raise support and awareness for the prevention of suicide. The walkers come from all facets of life including those affected directly by suicide, family members who have lost loved ones to suicide, and even medical professionals and advocates for the prevention of suicide.
It is a worthwhile campaign, inspired by the City that never sleeps, that I highly encourage you to support. Make a small donation, spread the word, just take a couple minutes to read.
